Since I haven't posted here in oh-so-long. Here are a bunch of updates. It's been a very busy winter for your friend.

Started talking to my dad again after about fifteen years. That's going very well. He's very laid back and not all nervous about breaking a very small child. He also has a very cool job. He drives the Amish. When something is too far for horse & carriage. They hire a driver. He wants to expand into courier service, and there's talk of turning the buisness over to me in ten years.

He's also helping me get my foot in at a heavy freight company that's not UPS. Which is a great segue. I hate my job. I've very nearly walked out several times.

My grandpop's really started to get worse in the last few weeks. He got lost one afternoon and had a car accident at about 10pm in New Castle County Delaware, which is a good 45 minutes from our house. This is after he drove to Princeton, NJ, got lost and wound up in West Philly, and then drove right by our exit on I-95.

It's a very sad thing, there's nothing more depressing to me then seeing someone slowly lose their mind. And not in the "ZOMG! He so crazy!" way, but...Well, last Monday he forgot my name, and forgot that my grandmother had passed almost eighteen years ago. It's hard, because not long ago, three or four years, he was still playing golf three days a week.

It's really hard to think of anything that really matters after that, but I'm in a new fire house. It's a great crew, and the whole station is very professional. I'm working for the chief I went through fire school with now. He's a great guy and doesn't put up with stupid shit.

I have a job interview on Tuesday with the TSA to be a security screener at PHL. Which should mean flight privledges. Or at least a few more bucks to buy some cheap airfare.

So that's what's been going on here.

I suck.

I got 'nudged' by somebody.

I'm on MySpace mostly now. The first edit of the movie is done, I haven't seen it yet, hoping to do that by the end of the weekend.

So yeah, everyone needs to go over to myspace.com/343films.

Well, you don't need to, but I'd appreciate it because you guys suck a whole lot less than MySpace does.

Okay. So I've been away for a while. Mostly on MySpace these days.

But I took time out from the internet this weekend to ... make a movie.

We shot Vollies entirely on location at a real fire house on a real fire equipment, and it'll look great. Funny, sad, happy, crazy. Nuts. It's great. I'm thrilled with the way it came out. Can't wait to get it edited down and ready for people to look at.

I'm hanging out at http://www.myspace.com/343films more than here. Which is a shame, I really should use LJ more...

It's been a while since I've been on LJ. I am back on AIM, digital dis4ster for those who want to communicate. I'm also on MySpace a lot, because you know, getting close to 30, I'm legally obligated to use the site to communicate with minors. I'm using myspace.com/343films most now.

This weekend I audition and rehearse for the video shoot. Next weekend I shoot. This week I've averaged about 5 hours of sleep.

But, I get the next 3 Saturdays off, and tomorrow I have an interview for a day job that may replace UPS, because I'm sick and fucking tired of that place.

Word to that.

Holler.

I will not be talking like a pirate today.

Work called me at 04:15 today asking why I wasn't there. I reminded them that I took two personals at the end of my vacation, and one of them was cancelled when my schedule changed to Tues - Sat.

They forgot. You know, because I only had to get my vacation cleared 5 times by 3 managers and two full time supervisors.

Cocksuckers.

I just can't even bear thinking about the next 20 years of my life in that place.

Not a great week. It started off shabbily, steadied itself, and then today went right back into the shitter.

Brief recap:
Rome can bite my white Irish ass.
Sistine Chapel, The Pantheon and the Colesseum are the only redeming values of the entire city.
US Air blows.
And then, my mom's dog dies. I wasn't particularly fond of the dog. He was a finger in the dam after our beloved Oliver died seven odd years ago. But he was a great companion to my mom and grandfather, and they are devastated.

My grandfather's mind continues to go, everyday he asked our neighbor if it was the day we were coming home. I don't like where this year is headed.

Wow, what a weekend.
Andre Agassi was served into retirement.
Steve Irwin killed by a sting ray, a fucking sting ray.
My roommate moved back in to the apartment.
I did the mountain of dishes that have been in my sink for way too long.
And, I finished writing episode 4 (of 6) of Vollies.

This time next week I'll be on my way to Rome, and as soon as I come back, it's all sorts of full court press into serious preproduction for Vollies.

I still need a couple crew members, particularly a cameraman or two. But I'm not that concerned yet. I also need to announce auditions. Of course, all this is pending final approval to shoot with the Mayor of Trainer.

Get your mandibles crossed.

I'm going to get a hold of the Delco Scan Man today to see if he'll let me use some Fire Board audio he's snatched for the shoot.
